Grandstand is a CAMRAs Champion Bitter of London! (15/3/18)
This week Grandstand won the bitter category at London Drinker in the London area of the Champion Beer of Britain. It’s nice to see such a lovely session ale continually appreciated and goes to show that it shouldn’t just be saved for rugby times!
London Beer City Festival Collaboration (20/07/17)
As part of the festival there is a ‘Battle of the Beer Shops’ competition going on, so we’ve teamed up the the wonderful guys at Micro Beers, in East Sheen, to design and brew a New England IPA. Whilst the West Coast IPAs are really high on bitterness, with East Coast style it’s all about the aroma, so this brew has no bittering hops, but a whopping 55Kg of aroma hops – in just half a brew! Look out for it in August across London.
Grandstand wins at SIBA SE (13/7/17)
Been a while since edited this page, so thought better add some news! And Grandstand has been recognised as the great session bitter it is, winning silver in the SIBA South East 2017 standard bitters category.
Gothick Dark is a winner! (4/3/16)
Yesterday Gothick Dark won Bronze in the ‘Champion Beer of Britain’ Old Ale and Milds Category for London and the South East. A great result for this glorious strong mild, aginst some very stiff competition.
Collaboration with Redemption Brewery
Redemption is a great brewery from North London that we have brewed a new beer with. It’s a one off and uses an experimental hop called Eureka. A 5% amber beer this new hop should be one to look out for in future years, but remember you saw it here first!
Bottles now in M&S
As well as being in the likes of Oddbins, Waitrose and Wholefoods, you can now get two of our beers in M&S stores across London – so if you want a Sundancer or Grandstand, you now know where to go!
Rugby on the Big Screen
We’re installing a big screen and projector, so now you can watch the games in the brewery with the freshest of beer and hot food. We’ll be screening on days when there is an England home game and showing both the games on that day, so bring your mates and come and get a full days rugby with us.
Spreading across the Channel
Last week our brewing team headed across to France to brew a porter with Page 24 (Brasserie St Germain), which will be sold in bottles in France. The return trip has just occurred and a French Spring ale has been brewed which will be available from the end of January.
Bottles now in Waitrose Egham
A brand new Waitrose is opening in Egham next week and, quite rightly, they’ll be stocking Naked Ladies and Grandstand in bottles. If you’re in the neighbourhood time to stock up.
Meet us in Druid’s Head, Kingston
We’ll be in the Druid’s Head, Kingston, on Thursday 5th Dec for a meet the brewer as part of their beer festival. As well as meeting us it’s the only pub in Kingston that has a set of our Small batch Stout, so chance to taste there!
Another Three wins!!
Tusk, our recently launched keg IPA has already won its first award. This glorious, dry hopped IPA won Bronze at this years inaugural SIBA Keg competition for South of England. IT won it in the hotly contested Premium bitters, Pale and Golden Ales category.
We also won silver at the CAMRA Norwich festival with Strange Brew in the Best Bitters category. Great to see Twickenham beers being appreciated around the country.
Finally, we won beer of the festival, with Grandstand, at the Ales-ford Festival, in Alresford, Hants
Winning streak continues!
This time Twickenham Fine Ales has been recognised as a business – winning the Small Business of the Year, at the Richmond Business Awards.
The judges praised our branding, growth and community involvement – so come on down and join us at our rugby bar and help us makes Twickenham famous for both beer and rugby.
Another winner – Mosaic Pale
We’ve just found out the Mosaic Pale, our new low abv, high hopped, beer won silver at the Ealing Beer festival. People were amazed at the amount much flavour was packed into the beer and how it tasted in the 4%s, even though it is only 3.2%ABV.
Look out for it again next summer…
Twickenham in keg
Been a long time coming, but you can now get a keg beer from Twickenham – and what a beer it is! Aroma hopped with Ahtanum and Chinook – with an extra dry hopping for good measure to cut through the lower serving temperature. If you are in the area the first place to stock is the White Swan in Twickenham.
Decade – Our Anniversary Beer
If you can’t make it to the party you can still celebrate with a pint of Decade, our new IPA brewed specially for our 10th Anniversary.
It’s a 5% IPA, brewed to be left with a little residual sugar gives an initial slightly sweet taste with a clean, crisp finish. Hopped with Chinook and Ahtanum gives plenty of aroma and a solid hoppy finish. Enjoy!
As London’s oldest micro we’re throwing a 10th Anniversary party on Sept 13th 2014.
From 12-7pm you can come and try our full range of beers, see round the brewery, listen to live music and have a bite to eat too. Tickets are £10, which includes 3 pints and a glass and can be purchased by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 020 8241 1825.
Look forward to seeing you all soon.
Bar times now available
Now the fixtures are announced we know when the bar will be open for before rugby matches. Have a look at the Bar page on this site and do keep checking back in case fixtures get changed.
Running the bar at Twickenham Green Fair
Get down to Twickenham Green on Sunday 6th July and, as well as all the great activities on offer, you’ll be able to get hold of some fine beer at the beer tent too. Look forward to seeing you there.
Nooksack – our collaboration brew with Kissingate Brewery, of Sussex, has been announced as beer of the Festival for CAMRA Sussex Beer and Cider Festival. This well hop fest was hopped with Mosaic and Citra and then dry hopped with the ‘7 Cs’ the seven hops from Washington State that start with the letter C.
Sold out now, so look out to see if any repeats may happen later in the year…
Naked Ladies is a Winner! (08/02/14)
This week Naked Ladies won Silver in CAMRA’s London and South East Champion Beer of Britain Awards, for the Golden Ales category! A fantastic results, given the level of competition in the category these days.
And don’t forget it’s available in bottles now too.
Just in – Sundancer in Bottles! (22/1/14)
As with Naked Ladies, we have bottled the beer using a sterile filtration process. We believe this is the best way of keeping the hop flavour of the beer whilst still have the benefit of no sediment – so it’s easy to pour and a great beer every time!
Already in some outlets, expect it in more over coming weeks.
